JOB DETAILS Dayshift - Must be available On Call if neededPay Rate starting at $31 per hour DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES As a Maintenance Technician 2 working in Buildings and Grounds your responsibilities will include but not be limited to setting up equipment as needed the repair of equipment performing preventative maintenance ordering replacement parts for equipment repair leaks of all kinds. A successful candidate must have superior written and verbal communication skills. This position requires strict adherence to safety policies and procedures and a commitment to customer quality. This position requires flexibility; must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off-hours and emergency overtime as required. Demonstrate ability to read and trouble shoot PLC programming and logic to diagnose problems and institute machine repairsDemonstrate ability to diagnose servo controls systems problems and replace componentsUnderstanding PID loop principlesDemonstrate the knowledge of labor scheduling and to coordinate the work of othersDemonstrate capability to lead and manage projectsAbility to back up maintenance supervisorAbility to design and build mechanical systems including retrofitting equipment with upgraded technologyAbility to train all employees on equipmentKnowledge of power distribution systems and basic troubleshootingAbility to troubleshoot problems within a complex electrical schematicsUnderstand PMC ordering systemExpected to complete trend analysis of equipment and parts usageAbility to assist venders to remote into are equipment to help troubleshoot and fix problemsDemonstrate ability to perform at standards of a Facilities Technician and Maintenance Technician 1Ability to be on call for after-hours work including snow removal weather-related issues and any other facility needs requiring assistance.Perform all other duties as assigned.Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent;2-year technical school degree desiredMinimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferredExperience with controls instrumentation motors piping and rotating equipment desiredExperience with PLCs a plusBasic knowledge in mechanical repairs and troubleshooting techniquesProficient in Word and ExcelMust be willing to attend training sessions as needed including out of state locationsBasic understanding of electrical safety and motor control circuitsBasic understanding of electrical principles such as voltage current and resistanceFamiliar with electrical measurement devices(voltage meters micrometers)Basic knowledge of pneumatic systemsAbility to use windows based software programsAbility to express verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrate problem-solving skillsPossess strong work ethic and knowledge of simple troubleshooting.Skilled in following directives of more senior level technicians and/or SupervisionPrefer some level of basic metal fabrication and welding experienceKnowledge of and experience with proper Lock-Out Tag-Out proceduresFlexible and willing to work various maintenance shiftsPhysical Requirements:The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made upon request to enable individuals with qualified disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.Must possess strength stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions.  Will use a variety hand and power tools may drive a motor vehicle and/or light construction equipment fork trucks platform lifts etc. Lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 90 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment and assistance.  Must be able to read printed materials and a computer screen.While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to walk; use fingers and hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop and kneel; talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit for long periods as well as occasionally be required to climb or balance.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.Exposure to variable temperatures as impacted by the weather.Work Environment:Mainly a manufacturing facility where exposed to moving mechanical parts forklifts heavy pallets moderate to loud noise level and air-borne dust powders and fumes.
