POSITION: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN EMPLOYMENT DATE: IMMEDIATE LOCATION: MAINTENANCE (DISTRICT-WIDE) SCOPE OF DUTIES: Job Summary: As a Maintenance Technician with the Odessa R-VII School District you will play a crucial role in ensuring daily operations and functionality of district facilities and equipment. Your expertise will be instrumental in preventing downtime minimizing disruptions and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as inspecting cleaning and maintaining equipment and machinery. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical electrical HVAC and plumbing issues. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential problems and implement proactive solutions. Repair or replace defective parts in equipment and machinery. Collaborate with other team members to schedule and prioritize maintenance projects. Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and report any major issues to the supervisor. Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance plans. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies. Other tasks as needed for district operation. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant trade school education is a plus. Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician HVAC Technician or similar role(preferred). Strong understanding of mechanical electrical and plumbing systems. Proficiency in using hand and power tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors. Physical ability to lift heavy objects climb ladders and perform manual tasks.
