Maintenance Technician at Faxon Machining

Maintenance TechnicianPURPOSE: This position is responsible for all Faxon Machining maintenance beyond day to day operator maintenance and includes maintaining the machinery and the facility both inside and out. The maintenance technician conducts machine setup troubleshooting repairs and preventative maintenance on all production machines.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Carry out the preventive maintenance programRepair and/or replace machine parts daily while maintaining proper fluids and cleanliness of machineryRepair of CNC controls drives motors and mechanical assembliesPlan and perform predictive preventive and reactive maintenanceWorking knowledge of single and three phase electrical wiringCommunicate with all department supervisors/managers about scheduling necessary maintenancePerform the Daily Preventive Maintenance for each machine as neededFollow company safety policies and regulationsWork in a manner which assures safety both of self and othersCarry out spill response proceduresCarry out all other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in a similar positionStrong troubleshooting skills with mechanical electrical pneumatic and hydraulic knowledgeThe ability to repair mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic mechanical systemsAbility to read and understand equipment manuals electrical schematics and mechanical drawingsCNC machine tool factory technician experience a plusSafety Awareness at all timesWORK ENVIRONMENT:While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud when working on shop floor. At times this position also requires some outdoor exposure during the addition this position also has a role in a professional office environment which routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
