This includes preventative maintenance and repairs along with responding to calls and performing system enhancements.Mechanized Distribution CentersMaintains Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) fire protection systems dock equipment including levelers and restraints lighting inside and outside dock doors industrial batteries and chargers racking and other duties as assigned.Performs maintenance and repairs on material handling systems. This includes preventative maintenance along with responding to calls and performing system enhancements.Essential Functions:Performs preventative maintenance on building equipment and systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.Observes mechanical devices in operation perform diagnostic routines and troubleshoots to locate root cause of problems and makes appropriate adjustments and repairs.Performs electrical diagnostics on equipment and makes necessary repairs based on the diagnosis.Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts using hoists hand and power tools.Maintains a maintenance shop storage closets and tool rooms in a neat and orderly fashion.Follows through and completes all work orders in assigned time periodMaintains appropriate levels of material handling equipment inventory.Tracks and completes all preventative maintenance utilizing Maximo CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)Ensures compliance with OSHA and other federal state and local guidelines.Adheres to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization.Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books journals and other literature and attending related conferences seminars etc. Maintains peer relationships in the field to share issues and ideas.Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Level 2 TechnicianSupervision Level:Daily 1-1 with leadership on the floorVery intensive leadership oversight minimal independence50% of work must be inspected and employee feedback providedMentorship:Must be assigned a peer mentor from Level 3 Technician or higherLevel 2 is allowed to only act as a mentor to Level 1 TechniciansE-learning Requirements:Honeywell Level 1-3 completion (within 12 months for external hires to this role)Work Habits:Must have a high level of initiativeMust work safe on a consistent basisEmployee must respond to all calls for support from other departments and from their own team quicklyKnowledge:Basic mechanical skillsComponent identificationProper and safe use of hand toolsAbility to perform basic PMs after being shownAbility to explain proper lubrication on various equipmentAbility to mechanically remove an electric motor replace and alignAbility to tear down and rebuild hydraulic water or sewerage pumpAbility to explain fire protection and building utility drawings (gas electric fire etc..)Basic electrical skillsComponent identificationAbility to use meter to check continuityAbility to use meter to check amp drawAbility to use meter to check voltage phase/phase and phase/neutralAbility to adequately explain the buildings arc flash study safety measures and arc flash ratingsJob Performance:Assigned Maintenance Percentage - Less than 10.0% per monthWork Order Failures - No more than 3 per monthAbility to effectively evaluate and assess essential equipment maintenance malfunctions and communicate status progress and completion timelines to leadershipWork Assignments:PMs (Preventive Maintenance) are fully independentMinimum of 50% of assigned work is inspectedNo critical equipment assignments are allowedEducational & Experience Requirements:Minimum one year maintaining and repairing PIV or warehouse related equipment and facilities.Mechanical Electrical Industrial Maintenance Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent certifications/degrees or verifiable work experience in these fields preferred.High School/Equivalent required.PreferredMechanical Electrical Industrial Maintenance Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent certifications/degrees or verifiable work experience in these fieldsWork ExperienceMinimum one year maintaining and repairing PIV or warehouserelated equipment and facilitiesBE PART OF AN AMAZING CULTURE WHERE WHAT MATTERS TO YOU MATTERS TO US!Gordon Food Service values our customers and understands that their success is largely dependent upon their workforce.
