Job SummaryThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building inspections preventive maintenance and repairs on a wide range of equipment to ensure maximum functionality at a manufacturing facility. This role diagnoses structural mechanical and electrical system issues performs corrective repairs and supports safe and efficient operations across the facility. The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in maintaining reliability of equipment trailers and powered industrial vehicles.What Youll Be DoingAs a Maintenance Technician your responsibilities include:Conducting routine preventive maintenance inspections on production equipmentRunning diagnostic tests identifying functionality issues and recommending solutions to leadershipPerforming maintenance and repairs on production equipment including chains conveyors sprockets and wood grinders using grinding welding and cutting toolsAssembling removing repairing and replacing equipment componentsCompleting all trailer repair activities at a 53-inch working height including:Repairing floors doors hinges side walls and roofsPerforming repairs using saws grinders welders and other toolsPerforming occasional roof repairs that require ladder climbing up to 12 feetPerforming tire repairs and exchanges using impact guns and other appropriate toolsPerforming maintenance on powered industrial equipment (forklifts) and verifying successful repairs through operational checksCleaning equipment and maintenance areas using pressurized air/blowers removing and reinstalling components as neededCompleting required documentation and storing records according to PLA standardsMaintaining a safe working environment and adhering to PLA state and federal regulationsReporting repair needs for leased trucks and coordinating with leasing companies as requiredSupporting the maintenance of a secure and organized spare parts and tools areaCommunicating with leadership regarding equipment needs repair updates and best practice recommendationsBuilding strong and collaborative relationships with facility staff through consistent clear communicationAdapting to changing work assignments schedules and reporting structures based on business needsWhat Were Looking ForCompetenciesAccountability Takes responsibility for actions and resultsAttendance Consistently present and reliableCommunication (Written & Oral) Communicates effectively with team members and leadershipProblem Solving Identifies issues and develops proactive solutionsReliability Dependable trustworthy and consistentSafety Awareness Identifies and corrects unsafe conditionsTime Management Efficiently manages time to meet deadlinesEducation & ExperienceAssociates Degree in Industrial Maintenance Electrical Mechanical or related field preferred4 years of experience in equipment maintenance mechanical repair or industrial maintenanceCertifications & LicensesWelding Certification or LicenseElectrical Certification or LicenseValid Drivers LicenseForklift CertificationPhysical RequirementsStanding walking and working at elevated surfaces (53 inches)Ability to lift push and pull materials and equipment as needed (usually 2575 lbs depending on task)Ability to climb ladders up to 12 feetFrequent bending twisting reaching and use of hand/power toolsAbility to work in an active warehouse/production environmentWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job the employee will primarily work in a warehouse environment. This may include exposure to dust fluctuating temperatures (hot and cold) and moderate to high noise levels.
