No weekends no holidays.Performs mammograms on patients in an accurate and timely manner.Responsibilities:Essential Job FunctionsExam performance/qualityIdentifies each patient by name and ensures patient understanding of pending procedureCorrectly identifies anatomical position with use of initialized lead markersPerforms additional views as requested by the radiologistCritiques each exam for technical and positional accuracy and makes appropriate corrections if necessaryCompletely fills out patient history sheetMaintains files according to department policiesShows a working knowledge of interpreting and recording Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) testing requirements mandated by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).Send films to appropriate sites for interpretationWorkflow managementCall back patients for additional viewsFollow-up on procedures needing outside films to be readContact facilities to obtain comparison filmsStocks and maintains exam roomsProvides management of department workflow in the absence of the Lead or as neededReview orders for clinical and demographic consistency and verifies accuracyWillfully assists physicians patients and co-workers as needed during examsWillingly seeks opportunity to provide patient care or assist others as neededUnderstand and support the direction and workflow of the departmentMaintain awareness of on-going exams and assist co-workers as neededProvide exam information and status updates to pertinent staff membersRelieves co-workers from procedures/exams as necessaryBe in the department and ready to work at the start of scheduled shiftHave processes set in place to allow for leaving at the end of scheduled shiftCompletes all assigned tasks in a timely mannerRadiology Information System (RIS)/CernerMaintain a working knowledge of CernerConsistently uses Exam Management for order modification to document comments and film usage/repeatsStarts and completes own exams correctly and in a timely mannerShow a working knowledge of Folder Media and Order View/Entry capabilitiesConsistently uses the Online Worklist to monitor orders and order statusConsistently uses Film Tracking to document the movement of the films throughout their usageShows a working knowledge of order entry via Power ChartReplace ordersDocuments patient educationDouble check orders charge for exams appropriately using bill only and modifiers as neededDepartment policy/proceduresEnsures proper patient identification on all films to comply with department policies and proceduresWillingly seeks opportunity to provide patient care or assist others as neededShows knowledge of department guidelines through responsible behavior/actionsMaintains updated American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) licenseMaintains updated NE state licenseReports issues/concerns to Lead or Supervisor as soon as possible and provide assistance with resolution/follow-upFully complete and sign Advanced Beneficiary Notification (ABNs) film release and/or refusal waivers for any patient that meets department specific policy/procedureClinical enrichmentProvides and monitors on the job training per Methodist College standardsMaintains professional and courteous relationship with students and instructorsProvide leadership and guidance for students education clinical experienceConfidentialityMaintains patient confidentiality coinciding with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).Maintains student/co-worker confidentiality coinciding with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).Ensure paper bins are emptied at the end of each dayProvides appropriate care specific to the age of the patient to ensure understanding and comfort level of treatment as outlined in the Age Specific Criteria.Provides appropriate patient careShows confidence and competency in all age specific categoriesEnsures patient comfort and understanding of ordered examSchedule:Work Shift: Monday through Friday rotating hours : 7am - 3:30pm 8am - 4:30pm and 8:30am - 5pm. No weekends no holidays.Job Description:Job RequirementsEducationGraduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program required.Advanced certification in Mammography required.ExperiencePrevious Mammography experience preferred but not required.Required completion of 8 hours digital mammography training and be current with Continuing Education (CE) and the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements.License/CertificationsRegistered Radiography (RT.R.
