We are seeking a Manager, Contracts, contingent upon contract award of submitted pursuits, to join the Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) strategic business unit. This role will support one of the program areas within the space portfolio and other exciting new business pursuits within the product line. This role will be an integral part of the business teams, supporting strategic solutions, and providing dynamic recommendations for proposal, negotiation, and execution issues. The candidate should be an effective communicator, highly motivated, and well-organized who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

What You Will Do
- Work closely with the Portfolio Directors, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Business/Estimating, and Supply Chain to manage successful execution of contracts
- Provide guidance regarding contractual and business issues, advising management of contractual rights and obligations as well as mitigation of contractual / program risks
- Perform as key contributor during the pre-proposal strategy, proposal development, negotiation, and execution phases of programs to include the preparation of bids and other contract management such as compliance with company policies, legal requirements and customer specifications
- Analyze Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI) and Broad Agency Announcements (BAA)
- Work closely within cross-functional teams to construct, submit, and negotiate Terms and Conditions and pricing proposals
- Negotiate and execute contracts
- Support program management and execution reviews
- Work independently in a fast-paced / multitask environment
- Develop effective partnerships with customers and internal teams
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
- Minimum 5 years experience specifically with contracts
- Experience with US Government contracts under the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and / or Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS)
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Fixed Price Incentive Fee (FPIF), Cost-Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) and Cost-Plus Award Fee (CPAF) Contract types.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with customers and internal partners based on understanding, teamwork, and trust
- Professional, effective written, and verbal communication skills to interface with all levels of internal and external customers; thorough analytical skills; excellent interpersonal skills; be adaptable to a variety of business situations
- Experience working in an exciting environment and ability to multi-task across multiple programs and demonstrated record of responsiveness with excellent time management and organization skills
