DescriptionI. Job SummaryManages the day-to-day collection operations of a single site or multiple sites or a single Line of Business ormultiple Lines of Business establishes and maintains performance and productivity metrics and costmanagement processes. Responsible for P&L. Route Managers and/or District Operations Managers will reportdirectly to this role.II. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionManages the Districts day-to-day operations and provides daily support to Route Managers in ensuring safetyservice and savings.Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with Company OSHA and other standards andregulations.Ensures thorough root cause investigations for all injuries and incidents following up with consistent coachingand retraining.Oversees department personnel needs including selecting coaching disciplining and training employees andevaluating employee performance. Manages termination compensation and promotion decisions.Formulates short-term and long-term goals and action plans in conjunction with the Senior District Managerand/or Director of Collection Operations.Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting coaching disciplining and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination compensation and promotion decisions.Formulates both short-term and long-term goals and action plans in conjunction with the Market Area General Manager and/or Director of Operations.Participates in regular P&L reviews to ensure that budgets are met; develops and implements programs foroptimal equipment utilization equipment maintenance and labor and material costs.Interacts with local city municipal and county agencies to ensure customer satisfaction improve efficiencyrenew contracts and negotiate new contracts; establishes WM as a good corporate citizen and valued resource.III. QualificationsThe requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.A. Education and ExperienceEducation: Associates Degree (accredited) High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and two (2) years relevant of work experienceExperience: 4 years experiencein a role with supervisory and/or P&L responsibility (in addition toeducation requirements).B. Certificates Licenses Registrations or Other RequirementsValid drivers license and a clean driving recordMust be able to maintain a valid drivers license and clean driving record throughout the duration of employment in this positionC. Other Knowledge Skills or Abilities RequiredExperience in a position involving at least 2 of the following: operations customer servicecommunity relations health and safety financial and human resource function experience as asupervisor or manager; experience implementing safety (OSHA) programs and equipmentspecifications experience preparing and managing budgets and experience resolving labor relationsissues required.IV.
