We are a 5 year running Top Workplace in the Greater St. Louis area. Job SummaryEnsures cost, schedule, and quality targets for manufacturing sites, product lines, or work cells are consistently met. Operations manager responsible for leading a large paint team across multiple programs, buildings, and shifts. Will be responsible for direct leadership and development of supervisors that manage union technicians on the production floor. Needs to manage schedules and critical paths to allow multiple internal customers to meet contractual requirements while maintaining process control and monitoring KPI's.Job ResponsibilitiesCapable of resolving complex issues/problems utilizing comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processesManage the development, and monitor execution, of manufacturing schedulesDevelop budgets and manage activities to accomplish financial objectivesCommunicate professionally and effectively with customers, peers, senior managers and theam membersTechnical ability to learn understand relative processes (CARC Paint Processes) to maintain control amoung team and prepare bid and proposal estimatesDevelop and recommend short- and long-range objectives, consistent with organization guidelinesCoordinate operations and communications within, between, and among various functional areasEnsure operations conform to the organization's policies and procedures, values, and federal, state, and local regulationsEstablish, monitor, and ensure customer satisfactionEngage in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and controllingCoordinate team members recruitment and selection, career development, and performance assessmentDrive continuous improvement through deployment of best practices, such as Lean Six SigmaContinually identify and assess risks and deploy proactive mitigation plansSupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationAttend applicable internal or external customer meetingsParticipate on special project teamsSupport and lead new product introduction activitiesMaintain knowledge of current manufacturing and continuous improvement trends in the industryJob Responsibilities Part IIQualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, management or related field, or equivalentProficient technical expertise with demonstrated applicationKnowledge and familiarity with standards (ISO, AS, etc)Excellent interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, communication and writing skillsProven expeience (typically 5-10years) in an industrial painting environment, paint shop or similar manufacturing environment preferredTaking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
