Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewResponsibility at the system level for all functions related to Patient Access for the Avera acute entities. The manager must possess knowledge of federal state and local programs when conducting acute site visits. The manager develops and implements departmental procedures tools and techniques to effectively provide quality registrations. The manager directs the training and monitoring of registration while incorporating the financial clearance processes to ensure optimal outcomes against appropriate benchmarks while maximizing point of service cash collections and denial reduction. The Manager will work with stakeholders to understand complex issues recognize decision points and design and deliver creative solutions while partnering with a wide variety of clinical settings.What you will doCoordinates all patient access functions including financial clearance prearrival collections no surprise billing uninsured/underinsured processes and pre arrival financial assistance practices.Assist in the development of the budget for Patient Access departments allocating funds within budget limits to accomplish departmental and system objectives and goals.Interacts with Revenue Cycle Health Informatics and IT to consistently optimize evaluate modify and maintain software systems for registration eligibility and financial clearance to provide peak performance and reporting.Accountable for accurate daily/monthly statistical financial reports and budget spend for department.Integrates the patient access department into the primary functions of the hospitals overall systems for delivering care as evidenced by participation in teams or groups focused on improving the patient experience.Interfaces and collaborates with other departments including Social Work Case Management Compliance as well as all Avera Revenue Cycle Departments to ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.Oversees the accuracy and quality of work; accountable to monitor and recommend workflow process modification to ensure goals are met for both customer service and reimbursement requirements.Work close with the Regional Directors Health Informatics clinical and financial leadership.Communication transparency from Director and Executive Leadership throughout the team proactively engages feedback and provides feedback to leadership.Responsibilities include interviewing hiring developing training and retaining employees; planning assigning and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
