Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOverviewThe Premium Services Director will manage and drive department growth and P&L optimization for AVP’s Premium Service lines including Premium Cataract, Refractive, and additional services. The position oversees the department’s management teams, Surgery Counselors, and Premium Service Team Leads. Responsible for directing and growing the departments by deploying marketing, patient education and workflow improvements to optimize patient capture and physician engagement.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, manage and measure department budgets, goals, and metricsMaintaining open communication with direct team members and Managers. Assist in streamlining processes and training to improve patient education and satisfactionWork with Premium Services Training Managers (PSTM) to develop, refine, and properly deploy patient education contentAssist the training team with updates to the Surgery Counselor Training Manual with respect to processes, workflows, and policiesReview Advanced Technology KPI’s and metric trends with Managers and Executive leadershipWork with Managers to assist those employees or locations falling below assigned targets while developing specific improvement plans as necessaryOptimize surgical workflows to reduce redundancies and streamline clinic to ASC handoffIdentify and leverage technology platforms to improve patient engagement and education to improve in-lane efficiencies and maximize provider timeDevelop and deploy best-in-class counselor to patient engagement techniques to maximize patient understanding to optimize capture rateMaximize vendor resources and relationships to improve technology offerings and internal education materialsDevelop lead management protocols and process to maximize marketing and outreach investmentsWork directly with internal provider base to further expand Premium Services knowledge and alignment Develop and enhance consistent counselor training process and protocolsMaximize patient estimation collections while improving current transaction workflows via technologyWork closely with FP&A team on reports and metrics trackingEncourage a team-oriented environment supporting the AVP Mission, Vision and Core ValuesUnderstand macro and micro economic trends to effectively price and expand service linesPerform any and all duties assignedQualificationsOphthalmology management experience desiredKnowledge and experience with Nextgen EHR/EPM systems a plusPrevious supervisory and/or leadership experience preferredAdhere to Good Clinical Practices with an understanding of healthcare complianceAbility to make decisions within established protocols and with minimal supervisionStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to problem solve and make decisionsOrganizational and analytical skills with attention-to-detailExcellent customer service attitude/behaviorExcellent communication skillsAble to work in a fast-paced environmentMust be willing to travel to all locationsDetail oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environmentAbility to maintain confidentialityStrong self-motivation skills and ability to be a “self-starter,” coupled with the capability to work as a team player, as well as independently, while simultaneously managing a variety of clinical teamsAbility to meet and satisfy flexible, dynamic work schedules
