What you'll do

As noted above, this list is intended to reflect the current job but there may be additional essential functions (and certainly non-essential job functions) that are not referenced.  Management will modify the job or require other tasks be performed whenever it is deemed appropriate to do so, observing, of course, any legal obligations including any collective bargaining obligations.

  • Provide leadership and manage the Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) and Codeshare Surveillance staff and processes.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of IEP and Codeshare Surveillance policies and procedures.
  • Maintains the content of the Internal Evaluation Program Manual (IEPM) and General Manual (GM)
  • Ensure staff is trained to perform evaluation duties and codeshare audits in accordance with IEPM standards and procedures.
  • Develops and executes the Internal Evaluation schedule.
  • Review evaluation results and provide recommendations and feedback.
  • Communicate and collaborate with system, process and function owners to assure that hazards identified during evaluations are mitigated.
  • Assures follow-up evaluations are completed as required.
  • Prepare reports to Sr Management and management personnel for awareness of hazards identified during evaluations.
  • Liaison with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Department of Defense (DOD), and International Air Transport Association (IATA).
  • Responsible for the coordination, scheduling, preparation and execution of the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and the Department of Defense Air Carrier Survey.
  • Manage department budget.
  • Perform other duties as directed

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Possess a pilot, dispatch, or mechanic certificate or a relevant undergraduate degreeMinimum of 5 years aviation experience, preferably in 14 CFR
  • Part 121 Air Carrier Operations but other experience such as 14CFR Part 135 or Part 145 or Military Aviation will be considered..

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Safety Management Systems (SMS) experience
  • IOSA Auditor Training
  • Experience with Air Carrier Quality Management or Internal Evaluations/Inspection Systems

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant CFRs
  • Working knowledge of IOSA Standards and Recommended Practices
  • Working knowledge of ICAO Annexes 1, 6, 8, 17, 18, and 19
  • Familiar with Company Operations Specifications and manuals required by 14 CFR Part 121 Part G
  • Experience in working with U.S. Regulatory agencies (FAA, PHMS, FMCS)
  • Strong organizational skills required with ability to manage numerous projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively inform and persuade.
  • Proficient computer skills are required with knowledge of information systems and database management (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook).
  • Ability to travel 15% of time, including International travel
