JOB DESCRIPTION
Exp Manager Of Global Income Tax Reporting
PayPal's Corporate Tax Department is seeking an Exp Manager of Global Income Tax Reporting to join its Global Tax Reporting & Compliance Team. This position, reporting to the Director of Global Income Tax Reporting, will work collaboratively with other members of the team, as well as PayPal's broader tax department, Controllership, and FP&A teams, to prepare and review the company's global quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations and related disclosures, complete effective tax rate forecasting, and model effective tax rate impacts of proposed/enacted global tax legislation and business initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Oversee tax matters within subject matter expertise.
- Support audits and interactions with tax authorities.
- Partner with tax leadership to evaluate tax impacts of business initiatives.
- Mentor and train junior tax team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
- Global effective tax rate calculations non-GAAP & GAAP
- Global current and deferred tax provision calculations / quarterly FIN18 rate calculations
- Global FIN48 and IFRIC23 tax reserve calculations
- Global FAS123R tax calculations
- Global income tax account reconciliations
- Tax footnotes and related disclosures for quarterly and annual SEC filings
- Partner with various groups within the tax department, corporate accounting, FP&A and treasury teams to gather data needed to support the global tax provision calculations
- Ensure internal/SOX control processes over the income tax function are properly performed and documented
- Quarterly and long-term effective tax rate forecasting
- Coordination of foreign tax provisions under US GAAP with local teams
- Effective tax rate modeling with respect to new accounting standards, global proposed/enacted income tax legislation, various business initiatives including M&A activity and internal restructurings
- Evaluation of Pillar 2 global minimum income tax
- Consolidation reporting and JE preparation using OneSource Tax Provision
- Monitor proposed/enacted ASC 740 developments, research various income tax accounting matters
- Support process improvement initiatives to increase overall efficiency of the global income tax reporting process
- Mentor and train junior staff
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance equivalent; CPA; Masters in Taxation preferred
- 10+ years of progressive professional experience in ASC740 income tax accounting for publicly held multinational companies; Big 4 public accounting experience required with additional multi-national corporate tax department experience highly desired.
- Excellent tax accounting technical skills, analytical thinker, detail oriented
- Ability to collaborate as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to effectively relate tax accounting issues to non-tax provision personnel
- Resourcefulness and adaptability; self-motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent prioritization and organizational skills
- Experience with OTP and SAP
