Player - Coach

This Player - Coach will build, lead, and scale the brokerage platform across the Chicago area. It is a principal-facing leadership seat with full ownership of brokerage strategy, agent recruitment, day-to-day operations, market expansion, and revenue growth across leasing, property management, and investment sales.

Position Overview

We're seeking a dynamic and experienced Managing Broker to lead, develop, and scale a high-performing commercial real estate brokerage team. This is a non-producing leadership role focused entirely on coaching, recruitment, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a former top-performing CRE broker who has transitioned into leadership and is eager to build something meaningful. This position will be held in Chicago, IL. You'll be responsible for team performance, onboarding, culture, recruiting, and process implementation-empowering brokers to win more listings, close more deals, and grow professionally.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead and mentor a growing team of brokers across multiple markets
  • Establish a strong, performance-driven culture rooted in accountability and integrity
  • Conduct regular one-on-one coaching, deal pipeline reviews, and performance evaluation
  • Build a sense of cohesion and team unity across in-office and remote brokers

Recruitment & Expansion

  • Build and manage a scalable recruiting process targeting new brokers in the next 12-18 months
  • Oversee hiring, interviews, and selection process in partnership with the CEO
  • Develop internship and university engagement programs to support long-term growth

Onboarding & Development

  • Design and implement a structured onboarding program (30/60/90-day framework)
  • Lead weekly sales training, objection handling sessions, and skill development meetings
  • Provide brokers with the systems, tools, and coaching to elevate performance

Accountability & Operations

  • Roll out KPI dashboards and activity benchmarks (calls, listings, BOVs, offers) Implement systems for performance tracking and early identification of underperformance
  • Streamline processes to reduce dependency on the CEO and support long-term scalability

What Success Looks Like (First 12-18 Months)

  • Listings and revenue nearly double year-over-year
  • Broker onboarding and ramp-up time is reduced by 50% Clear, repeatable systems and training programs are in place
  • Culture evolves into a top-choice destination for CRE talent
  • CEO focuses more on strategy and growth, less on day-to-day operations
