Manual Machinist
Manual Machinist Introduction Join our team as a Manual Machinist, where your expertise in precision machining will contribute to producing high-quality components. In this role, you will utilize your skills to operate and maintain manual machinery, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our production processes. Job Responsibilities - Operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders to fabricate and modify metal and plastic parts.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations.
- Set up and adjust machine tools to ensure optimal performance and precision.
- Measure and verify dimensions of finished parts using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
- Select appropriate materials and tools based on the specifications and requirements of each project.
- Ensure quality control by conducting inspections and tests on machined parts.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and environmental regulations.
- Document and report any equipment malfunctions or production anomalies to supervisors.
- Continuously improve machining processes by suggesting and implementing enhancements. Job Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a manual machinist.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of machining techniques and materials.
- Ability to operate manual lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Skilled in measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for handling heavy materials.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if needed.
