Job Description

We are seeking a career-minded manual machinist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a quality-focused mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement. The machinist will assist with daily production scheduling and setup of manual machines working with a variety of materials and custom setups for customer projects.Duties:Including but not limited to:Set up and operate manual and special-purpose machines to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic partsStudy blueprints sketches drawings specifications manuals or sample parts to determine dimensions tolerances and sequence of operationsMeasure mark and scribe materials for machiningSelect align and secure holding fixtures cutting tools and accessories on machines such as mills lathes and drill pressesCalculate and set machine controls such as speed feed coolant flow and depth/angle of cut or enter commands into computerized machine control mediaStart and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust as neededVerify dimensions and alignment of finished workpieces and assembliesBuild fixtures for drilling milling and turning as requiredCollaborate with engineers production personnel and programmers to resolve machining or assembly issuesCheck accuracy of engineering sales and manufacturing input to ensure final product meets quality standards communicating any changes to relevant departmentsSupport and implement 5S initiatives quality standards and EHS policiesMaintain and use specialty measuring tools and machinist handbook for precision workPerform single-point threading calculate speeds/feeds sharpen tooling and lay out complex featuresWrite procedures for producing parts including work holding and step sequenceUnderstand tooling geometry surface finishes and tolerance fitsCompensate for tool deflection and consistencyQualifications:Associate degree or completion of an apprenticeship in Machine/Tool and Die Technology or equivalent experience35 years of experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience in a quality-focused environmentProficiency in running and setting up manual equipmentStrong problem-solving communication and analytical skillsFamiliarity with blueprint reading machining calculations and specialized measuring toolsWork Environment & Physical Demands:Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts vibration and loud noiseOccasional exposure to wet/humid conditions fumes airborne particles and extreme heatRegular standing sitting use of hands reaching talking and hearingOccasional walking climbing stooping kneeling and lifting heavy itemsSpecific vision abilities include close vision peripheral vision depth perception and focus adjustmentTools & Equipment:Machinist scale calipers micrometer set combination square gauges punches scribe tape measure calculator hammers wrenches dial indicator edge finder screwdrivers Allen wrenches thread pitch gauge deburring tool and machinist handbookSupplied by the company: Safety glasses drills and tapsDisclaimer: Please note that we are unable to provide job sponsorships including but not limited to visas corp-to-corp arrangements (C2C) or any other form of sponsorship for employment.
