Manufacturing Engineer BE-4 Final Assembly (Weekend Shift) at Blue Origin

This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.This is a weekend day shift position (Friday - Sunday).We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise leadership skills and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. The permanent location of this position is Kent Washington and passion for aerospace and our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities:Define develop implement optimize and own rocket engine assembly integration and test processes.Translate engineering intent drawings and configurations into fully functional hardware by developing manufacturing work instructions to clearly define the following manufacturing processes: receiving inspection fabrication assembly test integration and refurbishment.Closely manage build sequence cost quality and schedule of hardware on a daily basis throughout the entire manufacturing process.Conduct DFMA and PFMEA studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design and build.Perform root cause analysis when non-conformances and escapes are identified and deploy corrective actions.Create and maintain BOMs routings and work instructions for engine assemblies.Create/modify manufacturing work instructions to disposition Non-conformances quickly.Utilize lean manufacturing methodology for process development and problem solving.Design procure install and qualify custom manufacturing equipment/fixtures.Troubleshoot and operate equipment as required.Travel required for training and other support activities about 10%.Collaborate closely with internal customers (M&P engineers test technicians manufacturing engineers management and design/analysis engineers) to define requirements and align tools to meet company objectives.Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Manufacturing Industrial or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply) from an accredited university or equivalent via job experience and trainingExtensive prior experience in high-rate assembly lines for aerospace and/or automotive is preferredUnderstanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T.Strong written personal technical and software skills (CAD Scheduling Issue Tracking Excel Word PowerPoint Outlook etc)Can demonstrate creating English work instructions for technicians and inspectorsAbility to develop processes compliant to industry quality systems such as AS9100.Must have flexibility to move shifts as needed on occasionOpen to working extended hours when requiredAttention to detail and drive to deliver resultsPassion for rockets space the team and our mission is a must!Compensation Range for:WA applicants is $89176.00-$124846.05Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDont meet all desired requirements Studies have shown that some people are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single desired qualification.
