Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize product designs using CAD software and engineering principles. Create detailed 2D engineering drawings specifications and Bills of Material (BOMs). Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for components and assemblies. Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) analysis. Collaborate with production quality and supply chain teams to ensure design feasibility and integration. Support prototyping testing and validation of new and revised designs. Resolve design-related issues encountered during manufacturing and product lifecycle. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks Inventor AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and drafting. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g. machining injection molding sheet metal fabrication). Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles. Knowledge of material properties and selection for industrial applications. Ability to create and interpret technical drawings including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Bonus Qualifications Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or Design for Manufacturability (DFM). Hands-on prototyping testing or fabrication experience. Advanced proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
