Our exceptional quality is driven by a deep investment in and the daily practice of continually improving our people, processes, and products.About the Opportunity:The Manufacturing Engineer II Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.Location: Manchester, CTThis role will be onsite 100% of the time.Responsibilities: Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methodsAnalyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, equipment layout, and workspace for maximum efficiencyAnalyze design proposals, specifications, manuals and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost and maintenance requirements of designs or applicationsInvestigate, research and analyze equipment failures, malfunctions and processes to diagnose, or make recommendations for changes to align with cost and efficiency standardsRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reportsSpecifies system components of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specificationsCollaborate with production personnel, other engineers, management, and outside vendors to improve the yield and quality of existing productsWork with production to understand problems and areas of inefficiencyLeads clear projects, participates in complex projectsProvide technical support of manufacturing equipment and toolsSupport bid and proposal activities for customer requests for quotes, including run time and processing time estimatesShares knowledge willingly with othersOther job related duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field2 years experience in manufacturing or related industryMust be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.Preferred Qualifications:4 years experience in manufacturing or related industryWorking knowledge of CAD/CAM system, shop mathematics, sheet metal fabrication, machining, and/or welding, inspection methods, special processes including, but not limited to plasma coatings, laser drilling, and airflow measurementProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma processesProcess Control and PFMEA experiencePhysical Requirements: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
