Job Description
OverviewThis role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions. ResponsibilitiesKey Accountabilities:Implements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams.Knowledge to develop tooling, interchangeability, replacement, and functional test plans.Using the established manufacturing process flow, defines sequences of events, develops text and graphics work instructions, manufacturing datasets, tooling requirements, and manufacturing bills of material.Communicating with engineering teams to influence and clarify design concepts.Coordinates change incorporation, optimizes processes, addresses producibility issues, production & postproduction problems. Has the ability to demonstrate configuration control of the hardware, within the manufacturing build plan.Ability to apply process knowledge in one or more of the following areas; Composite non-metallic, Electrical/Electronics, Machining, Sheet metal, Systems and Structures QualificationsRequired Qualifications:Minimum of 2-4 years of Manufacturing Engineering/planning experience. Strong to excellent SAP knowledgeStrong to excellent general computing skills.This individual needs to be a self-starter who can eventually take a project from start to finish and has a willingness to work with all disciplines to accomplish a goal.High School Diploma or GEDPreferred Qualifications:Computer skills: MS Office suite, SAP, CatiaExperience with manufacturing engineeringAircraft knowledge and manufacturing experienceAbility to read and understand engineering drawings, PL's and SpecificationsExperience with Catia programsBachelors degree is highly preferred but not required. Union:This is a union-represented position. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary Pay Range: $59,950 - $91,950 Kansas Tax Credit: Join Spirit AeroSystems' Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.
