Here youll be supported in progressing whatever your ambitions.5:00 pm - 3:00 am Wednesday - SaturdayAbout the role:As a Manufacturing Engineer Technician II you support the factory floor by ensuring equipment and processes are performing as intended with focus on tasks include responding to problems on the floor and supporting manufacturing engineering (ME).Most of your time is spent on the factory floor working on equipment and engaging with people. The ME team works with Quality and Production to ensure the factory achieves production goals (Safety Quality Delivery Cost). With general supervision you will work on the weekend shift as part of a technician team in the Access and Delivery Solutions Assembly (ADSA) business unit.ADSA is a subassembly producer for the greater BSC network providing multi-component shafts and tubes for assembly into completed products at downstream used on the ADSA floor includes both off-the-shelf and custom-built equipment such as cutters lasers traversing ovens test equipment and other ancillary equipment.RelocationRelocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.VISABoston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment VISA for this position at this time.Your responsibilities will include:Troubleshoot and solve equipment and process problems using basic understandingMaintenance activities for PLC controlledmanufacturing equipmentPerform standard/common preventative maintenance and calibration tasks on equipmentDocument common/repeat issues for resolution by the ME teamDemonstrate familiarity with tooling and fixturesExecute simple tooling and equipment qualifications with guidanceAssist the ME Team in executing Value Improvement Projects (VIP) to improve/revise existing processes for cost savingsProvide technical support or direction to operators and medical device specialists with assistanceSupport shutdowns (which may include staying late to make sure equipment is safely de-energized)Required qualifications:2 years with high school diploma/degree/equivalentPreferred qualifications:Strong hands-on mechanical skillsCommunicates well in both written and verbal formsWorks well both individually and in a teamSelf-motivated to seek out opportunities to improve business performanceExperience in a manufacturing environment preferredMedical device industry experience preferredElectro-mechanical trouble shooting experience preferredControl system experience such as interfacing with PLCHands-on experience with measurement systems such as: calipers micrometers tool scopes etc.Experience with mechanical print readingComputer skills in MS Word Excel and OutlookBasic understanding of Lean principlesHeat transfer equipment troubleshooting experienceLaser weld equipment troubleshooting experienceAbility to lift 50 lbs.
