TITLE: Marketing SpecialistREPORTS TO: Senior Director Development and MarketingLOCATION: Portland OR (In-person work required. Annual paid time-off is prorated in the first year of employment.Application Deadline:December 3 2025ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:Film Forever Northwest is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that owns and operates two of Portlands most renowned landmarks for film arts: the historic Hollywood Theatre a movie palace in continuous operation since 1926 and the cultural heart of the Hollywood district; and Movie Madness an iconic independent video store with one of the largest collections of physical media in the United States.Our mission is to entertain inspire educate and connect our community through the art of film while preserving the historic Hollywood Theatre and the world-class Movie Madness video collection. We offer a diverse array of film programming and initiatives that empower audiences to fully explore and participate in cinemas rich cultural heritage.JOB SUMMARY:The Marketing Specialist is responsible for promoting the Hollywood Theatre and Movie Madness as destinations for superior film experiences with a diverse range of film programming and a film archive of more than 95000 titles through storytelling and content creation. The Marketing Specialist crafts valuable and engaging content to attract and retain customers members and donors through graphic design written pieces and video. They act as lead contributor and coordinator for the organizations blog video content and marketing collateral.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Create promotional materials (posters social media assets video) for special events/screenings at the Hollywood and Movie MadnessCreate and maintain promotional materials for special initiatives (merch releases development projects)Create dynamic video content that brings our programming to life from monthly trailers to social media storytellingProvide creative input for marketing/advertising strategyExecute audience and customer experience initiatives approximately once per month at both Hollywood Theatre and Movie MadnessLead editorial coordination for the co-branded blog launching in 2026 working with staff and guest contributorsProvide additional writing graphic design and video creation/editing as assignedRepresent the Hollywood Theatre and Movie Madness at screenings and public events as neededProvide coverage for special events and conventions as neededProvide coverage for the Marketing Coordinator as neededOther initiatives projects and duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS4 years of experience in marketing ideally within nonprofits or arts and cultureAdept at Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop Illustrator Premiere etc.)Familiarity with WordPress CMSExceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt voiceA strong design sensibility and fluency in visual communicationStrong project management and organizational skills with a track record of delivering complex initiatives on timeMission-driven team player able to collaborate with colleagues across the organizationWORK CONDITIONS & REQUIREMENTSThe work is primarily performed in an office setting and/or remotely with off-site meetings and events. Occasional travel may be required.
