Master Electrician - Job Description
Position Overview:
The Master Electrician is a highly skilled professional responsible for planning, installing, maintaining, and inspecting electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This role ensures compliance with all electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards, while providing technical leadership to journeyman and apprentice electricians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, install, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, and equipment according to local, state, and national electrical codes.
- Inspect electrical components, troubleshoot issues, and perform necessary repairs or upgrades.
- Supervise and mentor junior electricians and apprentices, providing guidance and training on best practices and safety procedures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics to plan electrical layouts and installations.
- Coordinate with contractors, project managers, and clients to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
- Ensure all work adheres to safety standards, company policies, and relevant regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and project activities.
- Stay updated on changes to electrical codes, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Valid Master Electrician license in the applicable state.
- Extensive experience as a journeyman or senior electrician.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and equipment for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.
- Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, codes, and compliance standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with energy-efficient or renewable electrical systems.
- Project management experience for large-scale electrical installations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, heights, and outdoor conditions.
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment and tools as needed
Pay:
Starting wage range $40 - $45/hr.
