Material Control Coordinator
The material control coordinator supports daily production and inventory activities in an office and manufacturing environment. You will track materials, process inventory movements, prepare reports, and collaborate with internal teams and vendors to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Track and update daily inventory levels and material usage to support ongoing production needs.
- Run basic daily and monthly reports to monitor inventory, production, and material flow.
- Process material movements, including trip and receive transactions, to ensure accurate inventory records.
- Print and prepare pick slips for warehouse staff to support timely order fulfillment.
- Update production and sales reports to provide current information to internal stakeholders.
- Communicate with internal teams and external vendors as needed to resolve material issues and coordinate deliveries.
- Create purchase orders when required to maintain appropriate stock levels and support production schedules.
- Order supplies, safety gear, and signage to support plant operations and workplace safety.
- Help coordinate meetings, events, or team needs related to material control and production support.
- Remain available on-call for urgent material or inventory issues that may arise outside normal hours.
- Use RF scan guns and other warehouse tools to assist with shipping, receiving, and inventory tracking.
- Support shipping and receiving activities, including labeling and documentation, to ensure accurate and timely processing of materials.
Essential Skills
- 12 years of related experience in inventory, production control, or material planning, or a two-year degree.
- Experience with inventory control, production control, and planning and scheduling activities.
- Familiarity with warehouse management practices and processes.
- Ability to perform accurate data entry and report preparation.
- Comfort using a computer and basic software, including Excel, email, and internal systems.
- Ability to perform basic math and work comfortably with numbers.
- Strong communication skills to interact with internal teams and vendors.
- Good organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Experience with RF scan guns for inventory, shipping, and receiving tasks.
- Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures and labeling requirements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Two-year degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience in a warehouse or plant setting is beneficial.
- Background in material planning and warehouse management is an advantage.
- Familiarity with safety gear, signage, and workplace safety practices.

Work Environment
This role operates in a combined office, warehouse, and manufacturing plant setting. You will work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Training hours are Monday through Friday, either 6:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. or 6:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. for approximately two weeks, depending on how quickly you learn the role. The regular shift runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. You will move between office and plant areas, and safety equipment is required when walking in the plant. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Georgetown, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
