Job Description SummaryGrand Rapids facility builds electronic communication components communication centers beacon transmitters. These communication parts tell the command center what to do. As a Material Handler you will be receiving inbound shipments and building kits for assembly.The typical working hours for this position are 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.Job DescriptionAt GE Aerospace we have a relentless dedication to the future of safe and sustainable flight and the same dedication to the talented GE colleagues that make it at GE Aerospace means that you are bringing your unique perspective innovative spirit drive and curiosity to a collaborative and diverse team.Career Growth:GE isnt just a great place to start your careerits a great place to expand and grow your entry-level employees grow into leadership roles in operations or other parts of the are also opportunities to continue your career at GE in Clearwater or across the globe.Benefits:Our range of benefits includes health care starting on day one 401 (k) savings plan with generous employer match paid time off and more.Education Assistance: GE encourages employees to continue their education and provides financial support to further employee learning.Work environment: Grand Rapids climate-controlled facility offers onsite gym cafeteria Employee concierge service tuition reimbursement free parking with a great location close to 28th street.Roles and Responsibilities:Maintain inventory accuracy.Receive inbound material/equipment which includes uncrating/unpacking/removal from pallets as well as documentation verification.Physically stock parts materials supplies and tools while maintaining electronic traceability.Pick/issue material for sales orders & kits for assembly while assuring the correct parts are being issued.Pack material/units for shipping utilizing commercial/military standards to ensure material is not damaged in handling or shipment.Review shipping documentation to ensure items shipped reach the proper destination.Qualifications/Requirements:Experience handling and preparing materials for assembly preferred.Good dexterity: the ability to use basic hand tools and electronic scale/counter.Ability to load/unload commercial couriers utilizing a forklift pallet jack or any other equipment necessary.Strong computer skills within a Windows environment.Ability to work with minimum supervision and work to written job instructions.Responsible for self-inspection of own work.This position requires U.S. citizenship status.Eligibility Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 10-30 pounds repetitively and lift up to 50 pounds non-repetitively.High School Diploma / GED.Minimum of 6 months of material handling and/or preparing materials for assembly.Desired Characteristics:Self-Motivated.Excellent attendance history.Strives to meet or exceed job requirements.*** This is a general description only of a posted job classification.
