Material Handler

The role involves sorting and organizing metals for processing and recycling, including material handling tasks such as unloading and loading trucks. The position requires working both inside the warehouse and outside in the yard, with exposure to the elements, for which rain gear is provided. This is a physically demanding job that primarily involves lifting metal parts and moving them to different areas. The ability to regularly lift 50 pounds is essential. Scheduled work hours are from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Sort and organize metals for processing and recycling.
• Handle materials, including unloading and loading trucks.
• Work both inside the warehouse and outside in the yard.
• Lift metal parts and move them to different areas.
• Adhere to safety protocols while working in an industrial environment.

Essential Skills

• Experience in manufacturing, warehousing, or industrial settings.
• Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment.
• Ability to wear all necessary PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, high visibility vests, steel-toed boots, and ear plugs.
• Ability to work outside approximately 50% of the time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Comfortable with general labor tasks.
• Exposure to production, manufacturing industry, warehouse distribution, and industrial materials handling.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50/hr.
