JOB DESCRIPTION

Material Handler

As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our construction site and delivery processes. You will be responsible for receiving and verifying shipments, within the site, accurately maintaining inventory, and delivering materials to various locations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and verify shipments against packing slips/BOLs, inspecting for damage and accuracy.
  • Put away and stage materials in designated warehouse locations using safe material handling practices.
  • Pick and kit materials for internal departments and field teams, ensuring orders are complete and accurate.
  • Use computer systems to enter inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, issues, and adjustments.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts, perform cycle counts, and assist with physical inventories.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and/or clamp trucks as applicable.
  • Load and unload trucks safely, secure loads, and confirm delivery documentation.
  • Deliver materials to construction sites and/or company locations, communicating professionally with site contacts.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with forklifts and material handling.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and picking.
  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse/material handling, shipping/receiving, or related work.
  • Comfortable using computers for inventory management (ERP/WMS systems, spreadsheets, handheld scanners, etc.).
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and work on your feet throughout the shift.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Strong attention to detail, able to match parts/materials, labels, and counts accurately.
  • Dependable attendance and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment

Work in a warehouse setting where you will use equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks. This role requires standing for extended periods and involves physical activity, including lifting up to 50 lbs. You will also engage with technology, including ERP/WMS systems, spreadsheets, and handheld scanners.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Sleepy Eye, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
