Material Handler at Aerotek
JOB DESCRIPTION
Material Handler
As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in managing the flow of recyclable materials and supporting the production process. You will handle various tasks from recycling collection to material preparation, ensuring efficient operations within the warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Collect recycling items from production areas.
- Sort and separate cardboard and other recyclable materials.
- Sort through recycling and trash bins.
- Transport recycling items from bins to containers.
- Load and offload pallets from trailers.
- Stage materials in warehouse lanes as instructed.
- Move materials to production or other locations as needed.
- Package and unpack materials as required.
- Examine items for defects, wear, or damage.
- Report information to the warehouse manager.
- Maintain records of damaged stock and material-handling equipment.
- Move racks from the IST stage area to the loading rack.
- Perform systematic scanning and load high volumes of racks.
- Follow methods and sequences of operations in unpacking and component preparation.
Essential Skills:
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Experience in loading and unloading trucks.
- Proficiency with RF scanners.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
- Capability to work on ladders.
- Manual dexterity.
- Strong team collaboration skills.
- Effective communication and ability to follow verbal and written directions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience with forklifts.
- Inventory management skills.

Work Environment:
The work environment is ESD regulated and high security, with no electronics allowed in the production area. Smocks and ESD straps are required attire. The role involves heavy lifting for the majority of the shift, and close supervision ensures safety and efficiency.
Job Type & Location:
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, CA.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
