Material Handler Chemical Production at STERIS

At STERIS we help our Customers create a healthier and safer world by providing innovative healthcare and life science product and service solutions around the globe.Position Summary: The Material Handler is a functional role that includes distribution order picking stocking packaging and other material handling and inventory control tasks to ensure timely and accurate shipments are made to our customers using various indicators or signals. To assure team continuity across all warehouse operations this position may also be required to learn perform and or be certified to assist within other areas of Warehouse Operations including material control traffic or others as assigned.The role works collaboratively with key business partners to ensure timeliness of execution appropriate safeguards to protect during transit and or other. Interacting with Customer Service Purchasing Planning Operations and Material Control to identify and meet business requirements.Location: Plymouth MNHours: Monday - Thursday / 3pm-1am (OT as needed)Pay: $20hr $1.50 shift differentialWhat Youll Do: Timely picking of required material using forklift and / or other material handling equipmentVerification of items picked for accuracy and conditionLoad and unload trucks as requiredPackaging palletization and labeling for shipment including dangerous goods international and carrier paperwork and or labels Certifications provided when neededPerform physical and ERP goods movementsProcess stock transfers and material requestsReplenish production areas and other areas as assignedMaintain and engage in promotion of a safe work environmentFollow all provided control procedures and policies to complete tasksExperience Skills & Abilities: Required:High School Degree or GED1-year related disciplines experience requiredAbility to continuously wear personal protective equipment and/or clean room attireAbility to work with or around chemicalsAbility to become forklift certifiedPreferred:Previous forklift experience (counterbalance stock picker reach truck)If none ability to become certified requiredGeneral proficiencies in Microsoft Office and ERP/WMSExpereince working in a chemical or safety-senstitive warehouse or production environmentSafety training or certificationsOther: Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast paced changing environmentMaintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees customers contractors and vendorsAbility to maintain regular and predictable attendanceAbility to continually meet all ADA factors as detailed within this job descriptionStanding and walking in an 8-hour workday.
