Job Title: Mechanic
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled mechanic to perform maintenance and repair tasks on industrial pumps and forklifts. This role involves working with both electrical and mechanical components, as well as performing various welding tasks including spot welding, pipe welding, patching holes, fabricating, and reinforcing parts.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair of industrial pumps, including diaphragm pumps and centrifuge systems.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical repairs on forklifts.
- Execute welding tasks such as spot welding, pipe welding, and patching holes.
- Fabricate and reinforce parts as needed.
- Adhere to safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) protocols.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical repair experience in industrial or commercial settings.
- Knowledge of pump systems and forklift maintenance.
- Electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding techniques.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and OSHA standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical repair.
- Certification in welding or mechanical repair is a plus.
- Willingness to obtain 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.

Work Environment
This position is based at an indoor/outdoor hazardous waste facility, operating on the first shift from 8AM to 4:30PM. The environment requires adherence to safety protocols and standards while working with various industrial equipment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Beach, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
