These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs from CAD models and engineering drawings.Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and manufacturing process sheets.Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections using CMM.Analyze inspection data, generate detailed reports, and present findings.Troubleshoot and debug CMM programs and measurement processes to ensure accuracy.Select appropriate probes, styli, and fixturing for various measurement applications.Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement discrepancies and improve processes.Recommended QualificationsProficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Solid understanding of metrology principles and CMM operation.Experience with various CMM types and measurement techniques.Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their impact on part measurement.Bonus QualificationsExperience with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser trackers, optical comparators).Proficiency in 3D CAD software for model manipulation or fixture design.Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis.Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on CMM hardware.Job Titles That Should ApplyCMM Programmer, Metrology Programmer, Dimensional Metrology Programmer, CMM Specialist, Quality Inspection Programmer, Inspection Programmer, Manufacturing Metrology Programmer, Precision Measurement ProgrammerWhy Pivot GroupThe Pivot Group was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
