Mechanic at Hibbs ElectroMechanical

The Mechanic is essential to the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and testing of electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, generators, and rotating equipment that power critical, heavy industry applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection & Disassembly

• Disassemble and inspect electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, generators, and related equipment
• Identify mechanical and electrical issues through thorough troubleshooting
• Inspect armatures, stators, bearings, housings, and windings for wear, damage, or electrical faults

Repair & Rebuild

• Clean, repair, or replace components such as bearings, windings, brushes, shafts, seals, and other mechanical parts
• Perform bearing replacements and shaft repairs
• Conduct dynamic balancing and testing of rebuilt motors
• Reassemble motors and equipment according to specifications, ensuring proper alignment, torque, and tolerances

Documentation & Quality

• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor time
• Ensure all work meets company quality standards and safety regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company policies

Qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical systems
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to operate a forklift (or willingness to be trained)
• Commitment to company policies, procedures, and safety standards

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required
• Technical or vocational training preferred
• Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on mechanic experience preferred
