Our team cares about their co-workers, our clients’ needs, and the good we create within our communities.Mechanic for Construction CompanyMarch-Westin offers competitive pay, benefits, and a rewarding work environment.We believe that our company culture is truly unique in our industry and one of the main reasons our employees remain so loyal.Mechanic Primary Responsibilities:The Mechanic will be someone that is experienced in Preventative Maintenance and repair of construction equipment including Excavators, Skid steers, Trucks, Small Engines and general construction equipment. You must be able to work as part of a team, or unsupervised as needed. Employee may be requested to assist in the Warehouse as needed.Mechanic Essential Functions and Duties:The essential functions of this position include the ability to independently and successfully diagnose and repair equipment.Previous demonstration of successful mechanic experience5+ years’ experience required. The candidate will be able to work on a very wide variety of vehicle and equipment repairs, so the ability to be an excellent listener and be excited to learn and be trained is critical.Knowledge of both gas and diesel enginesMust be familiar with heavy equipment repair and maintenance, including OSHA regulationsKnowledge of Construction equipment required including transmissions, engines, fuel systems, hydraulics, and electrical systemsMust have ability to read, understand, and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics and manufacturer written service manualsMust be able to troubleshoot breakdowns and diagnose issuesStrong analytical skillsMust have strong attention to detail, and sense of urgencyWork in outdoor weather conditions as neededOperate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesCommunicate effectively with manager and co-workers.Mechanic Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:5 years previous experienceMust have the ability to lift up to 75 lbsMust be able to frequently stand, stoop, crawl, bend, reach, and climbBasic computer skills requiredWelding experience is a plusMust be able to maintain all service-related documentsValid driver’s license required, along with the ability to obtain a Class D License.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $22.00 per hourBenefits:Dental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurance Schedule:10 hour shift8 hour shiftMonday to Friday Work Location: In personCompany DescriptionFounded in 1984 and headquartered in Morgantown, WV, March-Westin Company, Inc. is recognized as West Virginia’s premier Construction Company.
