JOB DESCRIPTION

Mechanical Assembler

Join a dynamic team in a heavy-industrial manufacturing facility focused on the assembly of Industrial Power Systems. You will play a crucial role in the mechanical assembly of systems, working with sheet metal to construct metal enclosures. Utilizing a variety of hand and power tools, you will assemble units from blueprints and collaborate with a team to ensure efficient and accurate assembly.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical assembly of industrial power systems.
  • Work with sheet metal to build metal enclosures.
  • Use hand and power tools such as drills, screwdrivers, wrenches, and impact tools.
  • Assemble units according to blueprints.
  • Collaborate with team members for efficient assembly.
  • Stand, stoop, and bend throughout the shift to access various components.
  • Assemble units that are approximately 8 ft. tall, including work inside the unit.
  • Wear steel-toed boots from the first day.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in manufacturing assembly.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Capability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Physical ability to stand for the entire shift and lift 50+ pounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in production work is preferred.
  • Blueprint reading is considered a plus.

Quarterly profit-sharing bonuses are provided, typically equating to an additional $1 per hour. Benefits are fully covered and commence immediately once permanent. The organization is expanding and moving to a new facility, presenting opportunities for advancement, team leadership roles, and cross-training in various departments such as wiring, mechanical, welding, CNC machinery, electrical testing, and painting.

Work Environment:

The work takes place in a large, open bay production facility with multiple workstations and bays. While the production floor lacks climate control, industrial-sized ceiling fans help maintain air circulation. Expect a louder environment due to CNC machinery and fabrication activities. Safety is prioritized, with requirements to wear safety shoes, glasses, and ear plugs as necessary.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
