Mechanical Assembler at Aerotek
JOB DESCRIPTION
Magnetics Department
Join a dynamic team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you will work in various departments, learning the assembly and build process from start to finish. You will be required to work over 50 hours a week, starting at 5 AM, in a clean shop. This role demands a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic jobs using a tape measure. The job entails labor-intensive tasks, requiring you to stand all day, with responsibilities varying based on your experience and skills.
Responsibilities
- Clean, break down, repair, and assemble furnaces/coils using chisels, hammers, and other tools.
- Use hand and power tools to disassemble units and assemble coils, involving tasks like sandblasting and applying epoxy.
- Perform mechanical assembly to fit components into cabinets, following drawings and instructions.
- Connect wires in panels using point-to-point wiring, following diagrams and pictures.
- Install wire channels, wires, and additional hardware to complete control panels.
- Work independently in a paint booth to mask, prep, and spray coils and furnaces.
- Engage in mechanical assembly of systems and subsystems, requiring measurement and pipefitting skills.
Essential Skills

- Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting fractions
- Experience with power tools, saws, hand tools, and screw guns
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Brazing and soldering skills (can be taught)
- Experience in rough carpentry, framing, automotive, HVAC, and plumbing
- Industrial painting and sandblasting skills
- Previous experience in heavy industrial manufacturing or technical schooling

Work Environment
Work in a state-of-the-art, fast-paced manufacturing facility with approximately 200 employees. The facility is structured to support global manufacturing, engineering, service, and support. Dress code includes work boots, work attire, and jeans, with work shirts provided after a few weeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
