ABR is hiring a Mechanical Engineer!Location: Middleton, WI (onsite)Pay: $75,000 - $110,000 per year (may be higher depending on experience)Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire Position SummaryWe are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, test, and troubleshoot innovative rotating electrical connector solutions for customers worldwide. This role works closely with mechanical and electrical engineers, sales, and manufacturing teams to develop custom rotary electrical connectors that meet unique industry, environmental, and performance requirements. This is a hands-on role supporting the full product lifecycle from concept through production.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and test custom rotary electrical connectors from concept through productionCreate and execute mechanical and electrical test criteria and prototype test setupsDevelop work instructions and supporting documentation for manufacturing and production teamsCreate detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks to clearly convey design intent and functionalityParticipate in all phases of product development including design, manufacturing, assembly, first-article qualification, and production within the ERP systemManage schedules and maintain project momentum to meet customer and market-driven deadlinesCollaborate with machine shops and external vendors to optimize designs for manufacturability and delivery timelinesWork as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team to develop new products, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance, reliability, and costEducationBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related field requiredRequired Qualifications4+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or in a related roleAdvanced proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD, specifically SolidWorksHands-on experience building and troubleshooting prototypes, including machining or modifying partsExperience with complex, multi-part assemblies and tight-tolerance componentsStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, machine shop practices, and tolerancingFamiliarity with documentation control and revision managementProficiency with Google Workspace and standard computer applicationsAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningAbility to commute to Middleton, WI 53562Preferred QualificationsExperience with rotary seals, O-rings, bearings, and rotating mechanical systemsFamiliarity with Arduino and/or Python programmingExperience with product testing, validation, and or HALT testingKnowledge of material interactions and applied chemistry conceptsUnderstanding of ISO, CE, UL, IEC, and other relevant certificationsExperience with GD and T and tolerance-critical measurementsBasic knowledge of electrical engineering principlesExperience supporting production and manufacturing issue resolutionHands-on machining experience including lathes and millsBackground in materials selection and qualificationBenefits401(k)Health insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceFlexible schedulePaid time offProfessional development assistanceABR Employment Services is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
