In this role you will dive into hands-on component testingthink plumbing systems appliances and HVAC unitswhile assisting engineers and fire investigators out in the field designing and building test mockups and managing evidence in our warehouse. Youll complete detailed engineering evaluations document evidence recovery and deliver clear professional reports for our clients. This is a hybrid/remote role requires working in a variety of environments.PRIMARY PURPOSE:To be responsible for profitably ethically and scientifically investigating events systems devices and/or failures and to provide expert opinions.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for managing evidence in warehouseDocument Evidence RecoveryParticipate in Mechanical Component testingDesign and build test mockupsAssists with surveys of losses and loss scenes at residential and commercial buildingsAssists in investigations to determine and document the scope of damage.Participates in investigations to assess damages due to failures and determines the origin of failure for insurers and litigation support.Determines and documents the failure analysis and causation of failures.Supports project documentation outlining the cause and origin of losses and damages.Documents and maintains billable hours on a time and expense basis for failure analysis and forensic engineering projects for clients.Adheres to quality assurance measures and accreditation standards as mandated by all applicable rules policies protocols and procedures.Collaborates with the national team of forensic experts to leverage experiences and assist on projects.ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIESPerforms other duties as assigned.Supports the organizations quality program(s).Education & LicensingBachelors degree in engineering from an accredited college or university preferred.ExperienceSix (6) years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
