Job Description

Position Title: Process Improvement Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000 (plus commission) Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm About the Role: A rapidly growing manufacturer in the waste equipment industry is seeking a Process Improvement Engineer to lead engineering, product development, and process improvement efforts. This is an opportunity to join a company expanding through organic growth and acquisitions, focused on building high-performing, market-leading products. Key Responsibilities: Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), including ERP integration Create detailed layouts for production lines and product specifications Communicate with internal teams and customers to understand market-driven requirements Use CAD software (SolidWorks, SolidWorks Simulation) for production and development Develop prototypes, test product performance, and implement design modifications Identify process improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs Apply appropriate codes and engineering standards Maintain and improve project and production schedules, quality, and efficiency Continuously develop technical and professional knowledge Lead production optimization and product development initiatives Absolute Must-Haves: Mechanical background Manufacturing experience Drafting experience (CAD drafting) Experience with SolidWorks Helpful Experience: Waste industry experience Welding experience Lean Six Sigma Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution At least 4 years of relevant experience Background in project or design engineering, manufacturing, welding, specification preparation, and structural analysis Experience with steel, non-ferrous materials, composites, and plastics Technical writing and verbal communication skills Ability to influence stakeholders and drive projects to completion Critical thinking, creativity, and willingness to challenge the status quo Benefits: Competitive pay and incentive programs Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off 401(k) with company match Employer-paid life and AD&D insurance
