In this role, you will be a part of the MEPteam, of the Buildings sector (Science/Technology & Life Sciences projects), based in San Francisco, California

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Identify, research, and qualify RFP/ RFQ's and upcoming projects for go/no go potential
  • Direct and lead submittals in response to RFP/ RFQ's.
  • Manage existing and develop new client relationships
  • Perform at a 'responsible charge' level; meeting exp's design and quality levels
  • Manage work plans and deliverables on multiple projects within budgeted hours
  • Work with project team and clients to meet scheduled project milestones on multiple projects
  • Apply risk management procedures daily to minimize exp's and client's exposure to problems
  • Understand MEP/FP work planning and manage design process to the available hours in work plan
  • Understand proper scope of MEP/FP SD, DD, CD level documents - and deliver appropriate documentation
  • Coordinates with other disciplines (MEP/FP, architectural, structural, etc)
  • Edit and develop scope of work narratives (SD narrative, basis of design, etc)
  • Develop equipment room sizes during SD and DD phases
  • Thorough knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical codes
  • Advanced equipment selection and analysis(generators, UPS units, chillers, boilers)
  • Be able to direct and mentor designer level staff on all of their responsibilities on a daily basis
  • QA/QC reviews of all calculations by designers, and provide guidance and mentoring
  • Understand and apply concepts of CHW, HW, WSHP, variable & constant flow systems.
  • Advance equipment selection and analysis - chillers, boilers, air terminals, cooling towers, HEPA filters, DX equipment, and water source heat pumps.

What your experience looks like

  • Candidate should have an engineering Bachelor's degree in the field of HVAC/Mechanical Engineering with15+ years of building HVAC and piping design experience.
  • Experience in designing HVAC systems for Science/Technology, Life Sciences or Healthcare projects.
  • Experience with Project Management and leading multidisciplinary team projects
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
  • REVIT MEP Proficiency required.

The pay range for this role is $160,000to $200,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.

Typical senior pay: $73k for Education and Childcare Administrators, Preschool and Daycare nationally
