DescriptionAre you a motivated self-starter that loves to put engineering knowledge into practical use Is a hands-on engineering role something that appeals to you As a Test & Evaluation Engineer in the Product Evaluation group at the Emerson Innovation Center in Marshalltown IA youll have the opportunity to use mechanical technical and leadership skills in a collaborative team environment to support new product development. Our Test & Evaluation Engineers are regularly challenged to facilitate the continued growth and development of our capabilities in order to meet new demands or in response to the advent of new technology. We combine industry expertise with our knowledge of mechanical systems and software development to ensure we operate at the highest level possible!In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:Develop expertise in control valve and instrument test methodsDevelop expertise in control valve and instrument test methodsProvide technical feedback and direction to the design and evaluation of new product concepts including conceptualization design review and testing of complex productsDevelop and execute test plans in cooperation with internal design teams and/or external customersUse software such as LabVIEW FlexLogger DIAdem and MATLAB to gather and evaluate experimental dataPrepare engineering reports including analysis conclusions and recommendationsDesign construct and operate sophisticated test equipmentImplement efficiency/continuous improvement projectsCollaborate with other test engineers and technicians in an agile scheduling environment to efficiently complete projectsWork with Simulations Marketing Design Manufacturing Sales and Procurement groups as part of a multi-functional teamFor This Role You Will Need:Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering Agricultural Engineering or Electrical Engineering; or related.Previous exposure to testing or new product developmentLegal authorization work in the United States- Sponsorship will not be provided for this rolePreferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:Previous experience with data acquisition/analysis software such as LabVIEW or MATLAB is preferredAbility to apply fundamental knowledge of mathematics and physical sciences to real-world applications supporting the development of products test equipment test procedures and measurement techniquesProven mechanical proficiency with hands-on mechanical experienceDetailed understanding of control theory measurement theory and material fabrication techniquesAbility to manage numerous projects of varying lengths and complexityDemonstrated technical communication skills both written and verbalOur Culture and Commitment to You:At Emerson we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued respected and empowered to grow.
