To further Blue Origins mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Permanence system that will return humans to the Moon this time to stay.You will be aMechanical Systems Engineer IIIwithin the Lunar Core Components team. You will be responsible for performing and leading Systems Engineering (SE) tasks and delivering SE-related this role you will work closely with the Mechanisms Designers and Analysts but also across all other IPTs to ensure successful execution of the Mechanisms Subsystem in the larger spacecraft and mission. You will contribute to a team of Mechanisms Engineers simultaneously developing groundbreaking lunar landers.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise leadership skills and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities:Develop & manage Mechanisms specifications and requirements (at subsystem and component-levels)Develop & manage Mechanisms interfaces Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and models (in collaboration with adjacent IPTs)Decompose requirements from system and subsystem-levels into lower-level requirementsMentor early-career Mechanisms Systems Engineers on the Lunar ProgramStandardize Mechanisms Systems Engineering approachesOwn the verification and validation of Mechanisms requirements in collaboration with the Mechanisms test engineersPerform traceability analysis of requirements to higher levels and to verification activitiesLead trade studies across the Mechanisms IPT and with other IPTsServe as the Mechanisms point-of-contact for other IPTsUtilize Systems Engineering tools such as Jama Windchill and CameoSupport and present at major gated reviews design reviews readiness reviews etc.Qualifications:Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineeringMinimum 5 years of relevant Mechanisms Engineering or Systems Engineering experience on space missionsStrong understanding and application of Systems Engineering fundamentals in a few areas such as Requirements management Verification and/or IntegrationFamiliarity with common spacecraft mechanisms hardwareStrong understanding of aerospace hardware verification and validation processDesired:M.S. or PhD degree in mechanical or aerospace engineeringExperience with Docking SystemsFamiliar with NASA Systems Engineering process and standardsExperience solving a variety of mechanical problems demonstrating breadth in applicationExpert in requirements management software such as JamaCompensation Range for:CA applicants is $117498.00-$164497.20;CO applicants is $107707.00-$150789.45;WA applicants is $117498.00-$164497.20Other site ranges may differCulture StatementDont meet all desired requirements Studies have shown that some people are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single desired qualification.
