Job Title: The Florida Channel News Intern - 2026 Legislative Session (Part-time, OPS) Location: Tallahassee, FL Regular/Temporary: Temporary Full/Part Time: Part-Time Job ID: 61675 Department The Florida ChannelResponsibilities The news intern will be exposed to various aspects of news gathering and production, develop skills for researching and fact checking news stories, log video and assist with planning, producing and executing daily news content and a weekly half-hour newscast during legislative session.Intern may have the opportunity to accompany producers, reporters and videographers in the field at news conferences, committee hearings and other assignments. Intern may eventually be assigned to cover news events independently and write/produce news elements. The specific length of the internship, minimum hours required to work to receive credits, eligibility and college credits awarded for successful completion of the program must be verified with the student’s faculty advisor.Qualifications Degree-seeking Junior or Senior or recent college graduate with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.A professional demeanor and work ethic consistent with the Capitol Building environment.Strong research, writing and organizational skills.Ability to work throughout the 2026 Regular Legislative Session (January – March).Preferred Qualifications Journalism, Communication Arts or Political Science major.Helpful The Florida Channel, a WFSU-TV operation located in the Florida Capitol building in Tallahassee, is seeking a news intern for the Spring 2026 semester.
