Medical AR Specialist at Emergicon

The AccountsReceivable (A/R) Specialist is responsible for reviewing claims to ensure reimbursement by following up with insurance carriers and patients as well asrecognizing any trends in reporting and communicating those trends to the leadand/or manager for review.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManage all claims over 60-days on the A/R reports in a timely mannerWork assigned denials and correspondence Utilize clearinghouse and insurance portals for claim statusReport all trends detected in A/R managementPrepare corrected claims and appeals as neededProcess inbound and outbound calls as needed to insurance carriersFollow all state and federal collections and HIPAA lawsOther job-related duties asassignedKNOWLEDGE ANDEXPERIENCEHS Diploma/GEDMedical A/R experience required/EMS billing preferredMaintain certifications applicable to job functionsComputer literate with ability to type a minimum of 40 WPMAbility to communicate effectively and in a professional mannerDetail Oriented Knowledge of managed care plans insurance medical terminologyKnowledge of reimbursement fee schedules (Medicare and Medicaid)Knowledge of refund processes and requirementsAbility to establish/maintain cooperative working relationships with staffAbility to prioritize and multi-taskKNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEPREFERREDExperience in Medicare A/R commercial insurances appealscorrespondence and denials is a plus.Emergicon requires satisfactory pre-employment background check and drug screen.
