Job Title: Medical Assistant Contract Locations: Houston TX Pasadena TX Pearland TX Sugar Land TX The Woodlands TX Duration: 3 Months (Contract) Schedule: MondayFriday (Day/Night) Hours: 40 hours/weekRate: $22/hr (W2)Job SummaryThe Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers promoting efficient workflow and high-quality patient care within a medical office environment.ResponsibilitiesClinical SupportPerform venipuncture EKGs vital signs and assist with procedures.Prepare exam rooms sterilize instruments and uphold infection control standards.Collect/process specimens and perform point-of-care testing.Assist with patient mobility transfers and dressing.Maintain logs for refrigeration sterilization and crash cart checks.Monitor medication/supply expiration dates; dispose per policy.Maintain safe and compliant clinical environment.Follow PPE/safety standards regarding exposure to infectious materials.Perform proficient phlebotomy as needed.Administrative SupportEnter physician orders and prescription refill requests into the EMR.Manage medical records and update patient charts.Assist with scheduling appointments procedures or surgeries.Verify/update patient demographics insurance and pre-certification information.Maintain inventory and order medical supplies.Communicate effectively with patients families and staff.Skills & CompetenciesStrong communication and interpersonal skills.Professional phone etiquette; ability to handle patient inquiries.Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations.EMR experience preferred.Basic proficiency in MS Office.Ability to succeed in a fast-paced healthcare environment.Education & CertificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.Medical Assistant Certification.Current AHA BLS Certification.For more details reach at or Call / Text at .About Navitas Healthcare LLC: It is a certified WBENC and one of the fastest-growing healthcare staffing firms in the US providing Medical Clinical and Non-Clinical services to numerous hospitals.
