Professional Fee Medical Coder (Cardiology / Ophthalmology)

Location Requirement: Must reside in CT, NY, or NJ (Tri-State Area)

Equipment Pickup Required: Manhattan, Westchester, or Long Island

Selected candidates must be able to pick up equipment onsite in one of the following locations:

• Manhattan
• Westchester County
• Long Island

Remote work is permitted after equipment pickup, but local residency is mandatory.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Professional Fee Medical Coder with strong expertise in Cardiology and/or Ophthalmology. This role requires deep knowledge of professional billing, strong chart review skills, and hands-on EPIC experience.Candidates must be comfortable working in a high-volume environment while maintaining strict quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and accurately code professional fee encounters for Cardiology and/or Ophthalmology
• Assign CPT, E&M, and applicable modifiers in accordance with payer and regulatory guidelines
• Perform thorough chart reviews to ensure complete and accurate code assignment
• Navigate and work within EPIC workflows and chart review modules
• Ensure compliance with documentation standards and coding regulations
• Maintain productivity of 70–75 encounters per day (8–10 per hour) while meeting quality benchmarks
• Identify documentation gaps and communicate appropriately for clarification

Required Qualifications

• CPC Certification (Required)
• Strong Professional Billing (PB) background
• Proven experience coding Cardiology and/or Ophthalmology
• Solid understanding of E&M coding guidelines
• Demonstrated experience reviewing full patient charts
• Hands-on experience using EPIC for chart review and coding
• Ability to meet daily productivity and accuracy standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent, hands-on EPIC coding experience
• Experience in high-volume coding environments
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Monday–Friday
• 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
