Job Description

Managing Veterinarian / Medical Director (MDVM)

Yokayo Veterinary Center | Ukiah, CA

$150,000–$200,000+ base (DOE)
$50,000+ sign-on & relocation package
AAHA-accredited | Small-animal exclusive | Leadership + clinical role

Yokayo Veterinary Center is seeking a Managing DVM / Medical Director to lead our AAHA-accredited hospital into its next chapter. This is an opportunity for an experienced associate veterinarian ready to step into leadership or a current leader looking for a change. This position would be ideal for someone who wants true influence over medical standards, team development, and the future direction of the practice—while continuing to practice high-quality, hands-on medicine.

If you’re looking for a leadership role where your voice matters, your medicine is respected, and your lifestyle stays intact, this is worth a closer look.

About the offer:

  • $150,000–$200,000+ base salary (DOE)
  • $50,000+ sign-on & relocation package
  • Production bonuses with achievable goals
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Generous CE allowance with support for leadership and clinical growth
  • Clinical autonomy with the ability to shape protocols and services
  • A leadership seat where you can mentor, influence, and build—not just manage schedules

Your Leadership Impact

As Medical Director, you’ll partner closely with hospital leadership while maintaining an active clinical role. You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead medical standards and elevate the quality of care across the hospital
  • Mentor and develop associate veterinarians and support staff
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and growth-minded team culture
  • Stay on the forefront of veterinary medicine, modeling protocols after UC Davis–inspired best practices
  • Contribute ideas to expand services and support special interests
  • Strengthen client trust through education and compassionate care
