Medical Director Network Hospitals - Hospitalist Medicine – Houston Methodist HospitalAt Houston Methodist, the Medical Director Network Hospitals position, in collaboration with Houston Methodist’s Physician Organization’s (HMPO) Executive Leadership, the HMH Medicine Department Chair, and Executive Vice President of Network Hospitals, provides strategic leadership and facilitates high clinical quality patient care in an effective manner. This position will develop a high-performing, effective inpatient hospitalist infrastructure across the network hospitals to enhance care coordination, improve operational performance, and drive quality outcomes. The Medical Director Network Hospitals position will support the alignment of clinical operations with organization’s strategic goals by working closely with leadership including Chief Executive Officers, Chief Medical Officers, network hospital department/service line chiefs, and other stakeholders across the network hospitals which include HMB, HMCC, HMCL, HMCY, HMSL, HMTW, HMW, and HMWB.The physician leader position is responsible for developing strategic direction and leading the medical staff to enhance clinical care, promote healthier communities, and ensure the efficient utilization of system and divisional resources. This position involves providing leadership, knowledge, and experience from a medical management perspective while serving as an effective liaison among various leadership groups across the system. The physician leader position ensures that safe, reliable processes are embedded in health care delivery and fosters a culture that prioritizes patient safety, clinical excellence, evidence-based medicine, and continuous learning. This position plays a critical role in facilitating the growth and development of assigned division(s) and demonstrating the ability to work collaboratively with others. Additionally, the physician leader serves as a champion for organizational initiatives, exemplifies the I CARE values, and fosters a culture of unparalleled safety, quality, service, and innovation.EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSMD, or D.O, D.P.M. from an accredited medical or podiatry school, licensed to practice medicine and able to obtain a Texas license.Additional degrees (e.g. PhD, MBA, MPH) and/or other formal educational preparation for service leadership roles are preferrable.Board certified in an approved clinical specialty.Advanced management training preferred.Academic appointment commensurate with qualifications and experience is available through the Department of Medicine.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSSeven years of clinical experience, preferably in an inpatient or hospital settingThree years of physician leadership or people management experience in a healthcare environmentInterested applicants, please forward a copy of your CV to Rob Henges – [email protected]
