Medical Director of Sleep Medicine
Primary Care Provider & Professional Corporation Owner (Friendly PC)

Opportunity Overview
We are seeking an experienced, board-certified Sleep Medicine Physician to serve as Medical Director and Primary Care Provider for a growing sleep medicine clinic in Detroit, Michigan. This is a unique opportunity for a physician leader to combine clinical care, medical leadership, and ownership through a physician-friendly Professional Corporation (PC).
The successful candidate will act as the PC Owner (“Friendly PC”), partnering with an experienced management organization while retaining full professional and clinical control of the sleep medicine practice in compliance with Michigan regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Medical Director for the sleep medicine clinic, providing clinical leadership and oversight
- Act as the Primary Care Provider for patients within the sleep clinic as appropriate
- Diagnose and manage a full spectrum of sleep disorders, including:
- Obstructive sleep apnea
- Insomnia
- Narcolepsy
- Circadian rhythm disorders
- Restless legs syndrome and parasomnias
- Ensure clinical quality, patient safety, and adherence to evidence-based sleep medicine standards
- Supervise and collaborate with allied health professionals and clinical staff
- Provide medical governance, policy oversight, and quality improvement initiatives
- Represent the clinic in professional, regulatory, and payer-related matters
- Fulfill the role of Professional Corporation (PC) Owner, maintaining ultimate authority over clinical decisions
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO with an active, unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure) in the State of Michigan
- Board Certified in Sleep Medicine (ABSM or equivalent)
- Board certification in a primary specialty (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Neurology, Pulmonology, Psychiatry, or ENT)
- Eligibility to serve as a Michigan Professional Corporation owner
- Strong clinical judgment, leadership ability, and interest in medical directorship
- Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Medical Director or clinical lead
- Experience working in or developing outpatient sleep clinics
- Interest in practice growth, service development, and clinical innovation
