Responsibilities:RESPONSIBLE FOR: Under the direction of laboratory management, is responsiblefor leading all aspects of operation in assignedsection/team/department, including preparation and maintenance ofrecords, reports, policies and procedures; analysis of testingmethodologies, employee training/staffing, technical oversight, andcompliance. Works in collaboration with team members to ensure thattasks, priorities, goals and achievements are coordinated withmanagement. Assist with test validations, regulatory compliance,quality control/assurance, and maintenance within assigned area.Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assistphysicians in diagnosing, monitoring, treating and preventingdisease.  Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATIONREQUIRED:High School diploma orequivalent required plus a sufficient number of college and/ortechnical school courses and clinical training to satisfy therequirements for testing and certification as a medicaltechnologist by an approved certifyingagency.MINIMUM EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:Bachelor's Degree in clinicallaboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology or in alife / biological science (biology, biochemistry, microbiology,etc.) preferredMINIMUMLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:Three (3) years of hospital experiencerequired.ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:Certification as amedical technologist or medical laboratory scientist by theAmerican Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (AmericanMedical Technologists) or AAB (American Association of Bioanalysts)according to the qualifications through the State of GeorgiaDepartment of Community Health, Healthcare Facility, ClinicalLaboratory regulations.
