OverviewUnity Point St. Lukes- DowntownFull TimeNights 9pm-7:30amPerforms clinical tests and procedures in one or more functional sections of the laboratory. Maintains records of performance as defined by the Laboratorys administrative and sectional standard operating procedures. Performs and records QC on Equipment as trained. Actively assists coworkers with interpretations and troubleshooting and possible follow-up corrective actionParticipates in quality assurance (QA). Attends and participates in QA laboratory meetings as requested.Resource management: Assists and monitors necessary supplies and kit availability for patient testing. Responsible for following manufacturers recommended instructions for utilizing testing material and kits. Assists with reagent orders from vendors.Technical and teaching assistance: Provides operational training for coworkers involving manual automated and organizational skills for patient testing. Provides knowledge acquired thru experience and training to assist new hires and current coworkersBe available and help Phlebotomy services draw blood from patients in the Out-Patient area located in the laboratory.Work weekend shifts on a normal rotationQualificationsEducation:Graduate of an accredited MLT Program . MLT Degree or Certification preferred.Experience:Prefer one (1) year of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficiency.License(s)/Certification(s):Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician by Board of Registry of ASCP or equivalent preferred.
